A bird in the hand

Re: Books, And That Beguiling Little Bird

What a great article celebrating the 75th anniversary of Penguin Books. They are what I consider to be masterpieces of graphic design and typography: each book design is standardized, yet unique; simple, yet complex. They single-handedly made me rethink the expression “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Because of Penguin Books, I stopped taking the expression too literally.
